Hello blog followers! I apologize in advance for the weird formatting of this post. I'm not sure what happened with it or how to fix it.     As the year comes to an end, I've been thinking about all that has happened: I graduated high school, had my first (and second) job, and I've made plans to go to Europe! And even though not everything this year has gone as planned, I am still pleased to have done all that I have and accomplished so much.     The past two years I've done a memory jar, writing a little something each day for the entire year, but this year I decided to skip it because although it is rewarding on New Year's Eve, it takes a lot of work. So, this year, sticking with the adventure theme of the blog, I've decided to do a mini year in review looking back at all the trips that I took and some other events from this year. Here's the news you've been waiting for! Drum roll, please...... I'm going to Europe next Spring!!! I've been trying to find a good big trip to do, since I’ll have so much travel money, and there's so much I want to see and do in Europe, so why not! For the last month or two I've been looking into what a trip to Europe looks like and what I want it to look like for me: looking into flights, where to stay that's cheap, museums and restaurants I should visit, things like that. Right now it’s looking to cost me about $2,000 for all of my flights and trains, travel insurance, phone plan, and where I’ll be staying and eating. I didn’t include museums and restaurants in that total because for one thing I haven’t decided on those places per city yet, and for another I will be using this site/community called WorkAway to find places where I will get pretty much free lodging and meals in exchange for some services (e.g. childcare, gardening, general house ma...

     October adventure! After reading an article in AAA’s Via magazine, I decided that I wanted to go on a camping trip to Silver Falls State Park in Oregon and invited my boyfriend, Thad, to go with me! The article and pictures suggested going in late October, which meant we were surrounded by beautiful fall colors, however, camping in late October means it's pretty chilly and very rainy. But we stayed warm and dry for the majority of the trip! Mostly thanks to my new little tent, the Marmot Limelight 3 person tent. Very spacious, easy to set up and take down, and kept all of the rain outside with very minimal condensation buildup in the corners for the five days that we were camping.      This was my first ever time going on a road trip without my parents, and also my first camping trip without my family. As you can imagine, a lot of the trip was spent on the road listening to music, watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, playing games and just enjoying the scenery.      Hello! The Adventuress returns! Close to two months later. Oops.      In the past couple of months I’ve been working more and saving more, AND I went on a road trip!      My mom is one of my favorite adventure buddies, so why not take her on an adventure with me! Our road trip took us to the very rainy city of Seattle to do all the fun tourist stuff with their CityPASS, and then, of course, have nice lazy nights in.      Here’s a brief look at what happened on the adventure:       First stop was the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP). This was a picture that I took outside of the building and you get a small part of the Space Needle as well. The colors and interesting design of the building is really cool! The design came from breaking guitars and putting the pieces in odd places against each other to create the interesting shape and the colors used are meant to represent American Rock N’ Roll. ...

Everything and anything can be an adventure, some unplanned, many planned (or at least mostly planned since the unexpected can always happen). Love, life, going to college, saving up for a house or apartment, getting/finding a job, etc. Even the hard times can be an adventure, however challenging they may be; falling out of love, getting fired, losing a friend, etc. Having adventures makes us better versions of ourselves.
