Let the Adventure Begin!

Adventure

(n): an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity

Reader disclaimer: This being the first blog post it is bound to be long, so bear with me. I promise that the rest won’t be as long, or if they are, they’ll be more interesting. ;)

Hello! Every blog has (or at least should have) a purpose, so here’s mine!

Everything and anything can be an adventure, some unplanned, many planned (or at least mostly planned since the unexpected can always happen). Love, life, going to college, saving up for a house or apartment, getting/finding a job, etc. Even the hard times can be an adventure, however challenging they may be; falling out of love, getting fired, losing a friend, etc. Having adventures makes us better versions of ourselves. They help us to grow, learn, see things in a new light, and sometimes even change our mindset.

 I’ve decided to create this blog (as requested by many teachers, friends and family) to share all of my adventures. Life adventures, travel adventures, and every sort of adventure in between. But mainly to share my gap year adventures.

The idea for a gap year started somewhere during/between my sophomore and junior year of high school. I can’t say that I remember the exact moment that the option of taking a year off of school was presented to me, or the exact moment that it became a year of working and traveling. It just all kind of fell into place by itself. The thing that I do know though is that I 100% need to take a minute to thank and give credit to my mom for being the one to present the idea to me. So: thank you, Mommy! :)

For the past year or so now the plan has been to do three things during my gap year (June 2018-July 2019): work, travel, and get a better idea of what I want to major in when I go to college in the fall of 2019. For each paycheck I’ve earned I’ve saved 50% of it for traveling, and with the combined money that I earned working at the waterpark this summer and working at Target, so far I’ve saved about $2,000! Woot woot!! I’m hoping that in total I will have saved about $5,000, so right now I’m about 40% of the way there!

So yeah! There’s a little about me and what my blog will be! I absolutely CAN NOT WAIT to start doing some traveling: trips with my mom, dad, the whole family, friends, and maybe even some by myself. So far I’ve got possibly two fall trips planned.

Posting schedule? No idea. But if you’re subscribed you’ll know when I post as soon as I do! I’m still in the process of setting things up on here, but I’ve managed to set up a way you can reach me other than through the comments, so if you have travel tips/tricks/places to go, don't be a stranger and send them to me! It's greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your interest in following my adventures, and stay tuned! :)

Zoe =)
